The Most Famous Celebrity That Left Scientology

Hollywood is divided on Scientology; some stars see it as a religion, while others see it as a cult. Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, and John Travolta are just a few ardent adherents who frequently discuss the advantages of the Church of Scientology in their life. According to reports, more and more actors in the entertainment business have left the church permanently in recent years. Laura Prepon, Orange Is the New Black star, recently discussed leaving after becoming a mother. As she told People, "If parenthood has taught me anything so far, something might work well for a while, and then you go on and mature from that. You might be surprised by the list of Scientology ex-members, though, as many of these celebrities — like Brad Pitt — were likely unaware of their membership at the time. Leah Remini

Leah Remini is one of the more recent actors and ex-Scientologists to speak out about her experience in this wacky pseudoreligion aggressively. She ceased being a Scientologist in 2013 after 34 years of membership after facing backlash for asking where leader David Miscavige's wife, Shelly Miscavige, was. She now makes a point of explaining why Scientology is more harmful than beneficial. She has also contributed to a highly enlightening A&''E documentary about the subject and written a book about her experiences. Remini has previously come under fire from the Church of Scientology for allegedly fabricating her charges. Still, she has refused to change her mind about how toxic the organization is for its members.

Beck Hansen

Therefore, it's unclear how Beck and Scientology are related. He initially claimed to be a member before denying it afterwards. Let us explain: His father was a Scientologist, and Beck once wed Marissa Ribisi, the twin of Giovanni Ribisi, a practising Scientologist. He praised Scientology when he was still married. But following his divorce, he asserted, "I believe there is a misunderstanding that I am a Scientologist. I don't practice Scientology. I'm not affiliated or connected to it in any way. Many have been made to assume that he was a member once but left upon his divorce because of this.

Lisa Marie Presley

The Church of Scientology once had a member who was Elvis Presley's daughter. It has been stated that Presley quit the religion in 2012 and that she used the song "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" to announce her resignation from the organization. Presley was supposedly a high-ranking member of the church. It was supposed that Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, had also left the church about the same time. However, it appears that Priscilla has distanced herself from the church and that she still practices secretly. Famous people frequently join the divisive Church of Scientology and become members. Tom Cruise, Elisabeth Moss, and John Travolta are a handful of Hollywood's most well-known vocal backers.

Katie Holmes

Between the years 2006 and 2012, Katies Holmes served as possibly the most prominent public face of Scientology. When Holmes filed for divorce in 2012, it seems that she took the Mission: Impossible actor completely by surprise. Soon after, rumours began to spread that she wanted to end their marriage because she did not want their daughter, Suri, to be brought up in the Scientology religion. She was able to keep custody of Suri after the divorce because of this. Still, she has kept a low profile regarding Scientology's role in her relationship with Cruise and marriage.

Jada Pinkett Smith &'' Will Smith

Regarding issues concerning Scientology, this duo poses some intriguing difficulties for consideration. They established New Village Academy in Calabasas, California, in 2008, intending to use pedagogical practices associated with the Church of Scientology. In 2017, Leah Remini disclosed that Jada Pinkett Smith was a member of Scientology and said that she had spotted the host of Red Table Talk when she was visiting the Hollywood Scientology Celebrity Center. As a means of defending herself, Pinkett Smith went to Twitter, where she said, "I have studied Dianetics, and recognise the merits of Study Tech... but I am not a Scientologist."

Jerry Seinfeld

You may be surprised to learn that Jerry Seinfeld, famous for his delightfully sardonic humour, was a member of the Church of Scientology at one point in his life. Even though Seinfeld never became a practising Scientologist, when he was younger, he did attend a few Scientology seminars to learn more about himself. In 2007, he participated in an interview with the publication Parade, where he spoke about his experiences with Scientology. During the conversation, he shared his thoughts, saying, "During the early years of my stand-up career, it was crucial." I enrolled in a couple of courses and stumbled into some useful communication skills, which ultimately boosted my performance.

Jason Beghe

Another prominent ex-member of the Scientology religion is the actor Jason Beghe, who is currently best known for his role on the television show Chicago P.D... Scientology is "extremely detrimental for your spiritual, psychological, mental, and emotional health and progress," the tough-talking actor is quoted as saying. As a result of his remarks, he became the focus of what is described as the more vindictive aspect of Scientology. Although it has been established that the Church of Scientology has engaged in retaliatory actions throughout the years, the church maintains that they have never harassed Beghe.

Christopher Reeve

The actor who portrayed Superman had, according to some claims, just a passing familiarity with Scientology in the past. Urban legend has it that Reeve's engagement with Scientology ended when he was forced to submit to being hooked up to a lie detector for reasons that are still a mystery to this day. It would seem that Reeve lied throughout his interview, and the computers that Scientology claims to authorise did not pick up on any of those falsehoods. However, it is possible that Scientology is not telling the whole truth. After we finished talking, he got up and departed nearly right away.
